In October 2023, the village of Nižná Sitnica was struck by a devastating earthquake that damaged many buildings, including the Roman Catholic church. Our company carried out the reconstruction of the church, which can once again serve the faithful from the village and its surroundings.

During the summer months, the exterior of the church has been transformed beyond recognition compared to its original state. We are carrying out landscaping works, as well as modifications to the walkway and the outdoor staircase. A new roof covering has been completed on the sacristy, and the church walls are receiving new plaster.

Since the earthquake compromised the structural integrity of the church,we are reinforcing it with a steel framework. In the left nave of the building, we are casting reinforced concrete structures, columns, tie beams, and girders. On the church tower, we are removing the old plaster while preparing the walls for new plastering. Damaged walls that had to be dismantled are being rebuilt using bricks recycled from the original masonry.

We are dismantling the damaged masonry of the church, which will subsequently be recycled and reused for rebuilding the original sections where possible. At the same time, we are carrying out preparatory works for the concreting of reinforced concrete elements.
